Belfort is number 2! Wait, that doesn’t sound right…

Seeing as it’s the end of the year, a lot of top ten lists are coming out. Belfort was Dice Hate Me‘s number 1 game of the year; it was the number 3 choice for Ender Wiggins; and now we’ve made Joel Eddy’s number 2 game of the year!. Joel Eddy has been making a name for himself with his thorough review videos entitled Drive Thru Reviews. You can watch the video below to see his entire top ten list – or skip to 7:49 to hear his words about Belfort.

Or you can watch his entire video review of Belfort here.

Belfort in the Top 3 and Top 400!

There are some amazing games in this list and anyone interested in checking out some new titles could hardly do better than those listed here. Oh, did I mention that Belfort is his third favourite strategy game of the year? 🙂 Huzzah!

In other Belfort related news, Belfort has just made it into the top 400 games of all time according to users on boardgamegeek.com. Wow, it’s just amazing to know that Belfort is entertaining so many people! Sen and I couldn’t be happier!

The final bit of Belfort news is that we’re one page away from completing our first Belfort comic! Catch up on it now and check back on Monday for the final page.

* it’s actually the reviews that got the most thumbs – which probably correlates to most viewed as well.

Ender Wiggins Works His Comprehensive Pictoral Overview Magic on Belfort

Ender is one of the true giants of the ‘Geek – a name that implies veracity and tenacity in the quest for what is a good game.  While Ender and Jtemple (his writing partner) have come under some criticism that they only post positive reviews of games they actually like, it is apparent that there is a whole lot of effort that goes into each and every one of these reviews.  And if they were to post a similarly comprehensive review of a game they *didn’t* like, that would be a lot of time spent on a poor product.

So when we found out that the team was reviewing Belfort, and that they really enjoyed it…well, Jay and I were over the moon!  Ender had prefaced this review with a few solid session reports of his playthroughs with his children – this in itself was great at it showed that the game is more accessible than some, yet still weighty with decisions to be made.

So do yourself a favour and head on over to the ‘geek to sneak a peak at one of the most thorough reviews of a game I’ve ever seen!  For more of Ender’s Comprehensive Pictoral Overviews, check out this geeklist.
